The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) promotes equitable energy transitions by investing in productive use of energy (PUE) initiatives that generate livelihoods and climate resilience.

My Role & Task
Commissioned to lead a comprehensive desk review with a focus on integrating equity and climate into livelihood measurement.

  • Conducted literature and evidence reviews of global livelihood frameworks.

  • Executed a two-phase analysis:

    • Phase 1: Mapping of PUE programmes and identification of best practices and gaps.

    • Phase 2: Formulation of targeted recommendations for GEAPP’s internal framework.

Impact

  • Strengthened GEAPP’s ability to measure how energy access impacts jobs, livelihoods, and equity outcomes.

  • Provided actionable recommendations that informed the refinement of GEAPP’s livelihood framework.

  • Enhanced the organisation’s strategic approach and effectiveness in integrating gender and climate perspectives into PUE investments.
